The Director of Elementary Schools is responsible to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for the supervision and curriculum of the elementary grades (K-6) in all District schools in coordination with the Directors of Middle Schools and High Schools.
The responsibilities of the Director of Elementary Schools include, but are not limited to:

Directing, assisting and coordinating the efforts of the building Principals in the administration and supervision of the elementary grades.

Directing, developing and coordinating all elementary grade curriculum development, including summer programs.

Directing and coordinating the efforts of all elementary grade specialists.

Assisting in the selection, placement, induction, development and evaluation of all elementary grade level personnel.

Assisting in the preparation of the annual operating budget as it relates to the elementary grades.

Assisting in the maintenance, planning and selection of equipment and plant facilities for the elementary grades.

Using the resources of her office to promote the interests of elementary education through effective public relations.
