The Superintendent of Schools
is the District's Chief School Administrator. The CSA is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the entire district including 14 schools, all major departments and over 1,200 employees.

The CSA is also responsible for implementing the policies established by the Trustees of the Board of Education, keeping the Board informed on all district related matters and providing the Board with recommendations to assist them in their policy-making role.

 

Job Goal: To inspire, lead, guide and direct every member of the administrative, instructional and support services staff in setting and achieving the highest standards of excellence, so that each student enrolled in the district may be provided with an appropriate and effective education.

 

Scope of Responsibility: The management responsibilities of the Chief School Administrator shall extend to all activities of the district, to all phases of the educational program, to all aspects of the financial operation, to all parts of the physical plant and to the conduct of such other duties as may be assigned by the Board including, but not limited to, public relations.

 

In the performance of such duties, the CSA may delegate these duties, together with appropriate authority, but may not delegate or relinquish ultimate responsibility for results or any portion of accountability.
