2014-2015 School Forms
September 4, 2014
The 2014-2015 school year has begun!  Click here to download and/or print forms, then sign and return them to your child’s school as required.
**
There seems to be some confusion regarding one of the forms we are asking you to return as part of our back to school packet.  This year,  the Parental Consent to Survey and PPRA (Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment) Notice was included as part of this packet.  Please note that the Consent to Survey and PPRA Notice is intended only to notify you of your right to opt out of any “protected information surveys” as listed on the notice.   No student surveys are planned at this time.  If and when the District determines that a student survey is warranted, you will receive another notice specifically describing that survey and giving you an additional opportunity to opt out of the survey if you so wish.

Please contact Naomi Conklin, Coordinator of Student and Staff Relations, at 973-317-2165 or by e-mail at nconklin@wayneschools.com if you have any additional questions.

Extended Memorial Day Weekend
April 29, 2013
Each year emergency days are built into the school calendar for use when bad weather forces a school cancellation. Although we used all of our allotted days during the hurricane this fall, the reinstatement of school on Election Day and for NJEA convention allowed us to recover some of the lost time.

Therefore, two unused emergency days will be added to the Memorial Day Weekend for all schoools as long as we do not need them for some other weather emergency.  As indicated on the school calendar, in addition to being closed on Memorial Day, schools will now be closed on the following days:  Friday, May 24th and Tuesday, May 28th. Schools will reopen on Wednesday, May 29th.

Best wishes for a safe and enjoyable extended Memorial Day Weekend.

Stranger Safety
October 22, 2012
In light of recent media reports regarding student safety in northern New Jersey, we'd like to use the opportunity to remind everyone to talk to their children about the importance of "Stranger Danger."  The school district continues to work closely with the Police Department to ensure that our students are safe while they are in our care. However, as Halloween approaches, please take the time to speak to your children about staying safe when walking to and from school, never talking to strangers under any circumstances, and always reporting something suspicious to school authorities and the Police Department right away.  Click on the links below for some age appropriate resources when speaking to your children.

As a result of our unusually mild winter we did not use all of those days; therefore, three unused emergency days will be added to the Memorial Day Weekend as long as we do not need them for some other type of emergency before then. As indicated on the school calendar, the district will now be closed on the following additional days: Thursday, May 24th, Friday, May 25th, and Tuesday, May 29th. Schools will reopen after the Memorial Day weekend on Wednesday, May 30th.
