Highly Qualified Teacher Status
The federal law, called No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requires teachers to be “highly qualified” in the subjects they teach. As parents you have the right to inquire about the qualifications and the “HQT” status of your child’s teacher. At Albert Payson Terhune Elementary School every classroom has a “Highly Qualified Teacher” who is dedicated to the success of each child. I encourage you to continue to support your child’s education and communicate with his or her teacher on a regular basis. By partnering with your child’s teacher, together we can provide your child with the best education possible.
Sincerely,
Marion R. McGrath, Principal

Albert Payson Terhune’s Alma Mater
Music by: Patricia Merlucci
Lyrics by: Susan Enderly-Peracchio
Through the years, we stand united
Through the years, we stand with pride
Achievements of the highest sort
Education is our guide…
And with the faithfulness of our collie-dog
We can touch the stars and moon
Let us sing and praise our school’s name
ALBERT PAYSON TERHUNE
Through the years, we stand united
Through the years, we stand with pride
Achievement of the highest sort
Education is our guide…
And with teamwork and with respect
We remember old and new
Remember your Alma Mater
ALBERT PAYSON TERHUNE
Remember your Alma Mater
