The Second Grade has been hard at work

With so little school left, there’s no time to shirk!

We’ve all been learning about Changes in Time

With a trip to the Franklin Mineral Mine!

We’re researching dinosaurs and digging for facts.

We’ve found some that were gentle and some that attack!

We’ve also been watching the life cycle of butterflies.

Keeping a journal and observing their lives.

They’ve grown from larvae to adults big and strong,

With the sugar water that helped them along.

Now we’ve released them into the wild!

Perhaps they’ll stay while the weather is mild.

That’s Incredible! was a spectacular theme!

With so many interesting stories to read!

Tell Me a Tale is the last theme for this year.

But don’t fret! You can read over the summer, so near!

In math we’ve been working to learn all of our facts:

To Add and multiply, divide and subtract!

Remember to practice over the summer break!

(Your third grade teachers won’t know what to say!)

With this last verse, we bid you farewell!

Have a wonderful summer!  Until next year’s school-bell!
