We have had a ball in First Grade! The students are winding down the school year and reflecting back on what they have done all year long. They love to look back and point out what they learned in First Grade before they have to wave goodbye to their First Grade classroom.
Even though the end of the school year is approaching fast, the first graders continue to keep extremely busy. The entire school took part in Field Day on Tuesday, May 20th. The First Graders participated in several different sports activities planned by our terrific gym teacher, Mr. Richter, for the entire day. They demonstrated superb sportsmanship and were all great sports! Nice job first graders! Also, on May16th, the First Grade classes attended the YMHA production of The Wizard of Oz. They absolutely loved seeing one of the classics come to life on stage. Everyone had an incredible time!
On June 3rd, the First Graders will take part in Math Is Fun Day. This is a day where they will be able to rotate throughout the other first grade classes and experience all different ways that Math can be fun through several different interactive activities and math focused read alouds by some special guest readers.
Finally, the students are really looking forward to that last week of school and the much anticipated end of school class parties, which will be held on Friday, June 20th at 11:30am. Get ready to celebrate!
It was our absolute pleasure to have each of our students in our classrooms this year! We have loved being a part of their lives and feel fortunate to have been able to connect with such special children and the families they belong to! Thank you again for all of your help and cooperation in making this year a wonderful experience for each of us!
Have a wonderful and safe summer!
