I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving break with family and friends. As we head into another holiday season, I am pleased to report that everything at Fallon is running smoothly. On behalf of the teachers and myself I would like to thank the Fallon parents for visiting our classes during American Education visitation day and for meeting with your child’s teacher for Parent Teacher Conferences. I would also like to thank our top notch faculty for their continuing dedication and professionalism.
Halloween was packed with its usual fun activities including our class parties, parade and Fall Frenzy night. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped make this one of the most enjoyable times of the year.
In recognition of School Violence Awareness week, our students were involved with many activities and assemblies which included;
- Character Education lessons by the classroom teachers
- Anti bullying lessons for all grade levels by Mr. Maayan
- Classroom bully lessons for all grade levels by our EPIC Counselor, Mrs. Malone.
- School-wide activity....."Take A Stand, Lend A Hand, Stop Bullying Now". Every student was given the outline of a hand. Inside the hand, each student will either wrote or drew their ideas on what they can do to stop bullying. All hands are now posted up throughout the school.
- School-wide assembly Oct. 23rd. Million Dollar Machine assembly offered through the Wayne Alliance. This program addressed Drug and Alcohol Awareness, decision making, conflict resolution and refusal skills.
- School-wide assembly Oct. 27th. "Bully Busters" Assembly.
Our fourth grade program on October 23 was a huge success. The students did a wonderful job in presenting “Falling into the Holidays”. Congratulations to our fourth grade teachers Mrs. Biondo, Mrs. Heine, Mrs. Montgomery, student teachers Ms. Schrieber, Mr. Awad and to our music specialist Mr. Santoro for an outstanding performance.
Thanks to our PTO Cultural Enrichment chairpersons for providing the Schoolhouse Rock and the Morris Brothers assemblies. We would also like to thank the Wayne Alliance for providing us with the Million Dollar Machine assembly.
I am pleased to announce that the Student Council is in the process of raising money to send phone cards to our troops in Iraq. In addition to the coin collection, many Fallon students are selling friendship bracelets to contribute to the cause.
We very much look forward to our December 16 grade level program when our third graders will present “The Grinch Who Stole the Holidays”. We also look forward to our PTO Holiday Boutique, our holiday Band Concert, sing-a-long and class parties.
Have a happy and healthy holiday season and a very happy New Year!
