Parking Lot Procedures - THINK SAFETY!

1. Each driver entering the school driveway and parking area needs to take personal responsibility to follow the posted traffic signs and yellow curb restrictions. The curb in front of the building is for pick-up and drop-off only and is not for stopping and waiting until your comes out or goes into the building. You should be by the yellow curb only if your child is visible and waiting for you.

3. Some parents are parking in areas where buses need to enter or exit. If you have been picking up or dropping off, you know where the buses go and you SHOULD NOT be parked to blocked their path. THERE IS NO PARKING IN THE BACK OF THE SCHOOL. THIS AREA IS STRICKLY FOR OUR BUSES AND VANS.

In the event of an emergency, please try to call the school before arriving to request your child's early dismissal.  Please note that your child must be in school for 4 instructional hours to receive credit for that school day.

Absence from School

Absence from school should be held to an absolute minimum for the best educational interest for the student. The only reasons permitted for an excused absence are religious holidays, student illness, or a death in the immediate family. Please call 973-633-3160 before 8:55 AM to let the school know that your child will be absent. There may be times when parents choose to keep children out of school for other reasons, such as traveling and family vacations. WE DISCOURAGE THIS PRACTICE, ASKING THAT YOU PLAN YOUR VACATION DURING SCHEDULED SCHOOL VACATIONS. For all absences, students are held responsible for missed assignments. Teachers are expected to provide students with missed assignments and a suitable amount of time is provided for the students to make up the work. PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR ADVANCED ASSIGNMENTS IN ORDER TO HAVE CHILDREN COMPLETE THEIR WORK PRIOR TO OR WHILE ON VACATION.
