May and June bring many exciting events to First Grade. The First Graders and their teachers are very excited to participate in J.F.K.’s Field Day on May 25th. This will give us an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful weather and participate in physical activities with the entire school.
On Thursday, June 17th the First Graders will be taking a Field Trip to the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. The day will be filled with fun and educational hands on activities. Please send your child with a lunch in a labeled brown bag and only send disposable items.
Our awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 16th at 9:15 a.m. The students have worked hard all year long and are looking forward to this special day. We hope to see you there!
We will also be working on a Whale Research Project in class. Your child can choose to research the Killer, Gray, Blue, or Beluga Whale. They can start preparing now for the project by gathering information about these whales from the internet, library, magazines, and any other resources.
The school year is quickly coming to an end. We’ve had a great year and have enjoyed working not only with your children, but with you as well.
Have a safe and happy summer.
