Our current Reading Theme is Family Photos. When we culminate our theme, each child will be compiling an autobiography.  The children will really enjoy sharing their early childhood photos and experiences.

     The second grade classes will be starting an extensive Tomie dePaola author study. Some of the books we will be reading are "Strega Nona", "The Art Lesson", "The Quicksand Book", and "The Popcorn Book".  The children will be choosing their favorite “Tomie book” and writing a detailed book report on it.  It will be a fun way of sharing his terrific books!

     All of our classes will have the opportunity to visit the Outdoor Lab. The children will be exploring nature, viewing constellations in the planetarium, and playing with the frogs! The students really enjoy the Outdoor Lab!

An important reminder to parents: Please encourage your child to eat a healthy breakfast and get a good night’s rest, especially during the week of NJ PASS testing (March 22-25).
