In the months of January and February, our John F. Kennedy kindergarteners will be experiencing many new and exciting learning adventures. We will kick start the month of January with a theme unit on polar animals.
Our students will become aware of the various cultures throughout the world and through the teachings of Martin Luther King Jr. learn acceptance, peace, and harmony. To tie together these themes, students will work with the idea of friendship in their reading series.
February is a busy month for math. We will be celebrating our 100th day of school with different projects, counting by tens, graphing, adding and subtracting, making patterns and using calculators. We will be incorporating probability into our holiday projects with Groundhog’s Day, President’s Day, and Valentine’s Day. During our winter months there are numerous changes in weather. The JFK kindergarteners will be observing weather patterns, making predictions, and doing a special activity using ice. Please stay warm and healthy during these exciting winter months!
