Wayne Public School District class websites are created and hosted using the
SchoolFusion system. You may access SchoolFusion using the link on this page.
SchoolFusion will be available as a pilot system to interested teachers and their
students starting in June 2008
and continuing through the 2008 / 2009 school year. The pilot will proceed in phases.
Phase I begins with class sites. Additional system functions such as sports team groups,
department pages, and parent access will become available during later phases of implementation.
The district will notify users as additional options become available.
Please see the summary below for more information on what SchoolFusion has to offer
teachers, students and parents.

Communication
SchoolFusion is a web-based system which provides teachers with private classroom websites. Each classroom site has areas for teachers to post homework assignments, announcements, links (bookmarks), and files to be used by their students and their students’ parents. In addition to class-specific sites, department and teacher webpages may be created on request (starting in Phase II). SchoolFusion can also provide other school groups such as sports teams and student activities with private websites for information sharing and communication (starting in Phase II).
When teachers and students log on to SchoolFusion, they see a personalized interface including shortcuts to all
of their personal classes and groups. When parents log on (starting in Phase III), they are provided with links
to each of their children's classes, all in one place. These personalized links make it easy for teachers to add content and
easy for students and parents to find it.
Privacy
SchoolFusion is community private, which means you must be logged in and approved to access class and group pages. Membership in classes
is controlled by the district's Student Information System: only the teacher, students and parents may see class content. Memberships in teams and student activity groups is controlled by the group administrators, and users must be added before they may see the group content. Department and individual pages may be viewed by anyone with a SchoolFusion logon - but they may not be viewed by the public at large.
SchoolFusion provides a place where private groups within the school community may interact without allowing access to anyone
browsing the internet.
Ease of Use
To ensure maximum ease of use, SchoolFusion is automated and template driven. Class pages are automatically set up for teachers and students are automatically added to classes they are taking. Class and enrollment information is automatically updated. Class and group pages are made up of modules which require no setup on the part of the teacher. A simple user interface makes adding content to the modules very easy. And because SchoolFusion is web based, it’s available 24/7 from anywhere with an internet connection and a web browser, so teachers may access their pages whenever and wherever it’s most convenient for them.
Additionally, one SchoolFusion user account provides access to every school at which a user has classes. So a teacher with classes at more than one school or a parent with children at more than one school can access everything in one place, using a single user account.
SchoolFusion even provides each user with a personal calendar on which they can see all of their events and assignments,
at the same time or class by class, and add personal events. And each user has a personal files area to assist in organizing and
managing personal content and assignments.
Maximum Results
SchoolFusion delivers the benefits of maximized communication within the school community, minimal investment of teachers’ time, and privacy of content.
