The first grade teachers will supply the items your child needs during the school year. However, many children like to bring in their own supplies. We have found it necessary to issue some guidelines because space in and on our desks is limited. Learning how to organize is an important part of a first graders learning experience. Large, fancy items only get in the way. If you do plan on shopping for school supplies, please use our guidelines. Remember, all of these items are optional, because they are supplied.
Crayons- box of 16 (no larger please)
Small pink rubber eraser (no more than 2)
Thin markers (8-10 in a pack)
NO. 2 pencils
Glue stick
Please make sure the following items are sent to school with your child marked with his/her name in it:
A smock or old large t-shirt for art is needed
Lunchbox (if needed)
Backpack ( For Mrs. Najjar, Mrs. Schweighardt, & Mrs. Mayer’s class - PLEASE AVOID BACKPACK ON WHEELS. They are NOT necessary and we do not have much storage in our classrooms for these items.)
Please do not send your child to school with spiral notebooks, pads or trapper keepers.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and helping to start the school year off on the right foot.
