Windows is an accelerated academic program for 4th and 5th grade students based at Packanack School. The program delivers a challenging curriculum offering guided and independent studies across the curriculum. Students are engaged in a literacy based language arts program where they study historical fiction and complete extensive writing activities to integrate knowledge from all subject areas. Daily writing activities include poetry, letter and journal writing, news reports and speeches. Science and social studies projects stimulate problem-solving and higher level thinking abilities. Creativity is encouraged as well as community building. Math studies range from advanced computation, logic and reasoning, to algebraic studies. This wide range of projects will showcase their individual true passions and talents. Students get to enjoy daily the fruits of their classmates' hard work including singing, dancing, artistic expression and technological masterpieces!!!
