A message from your principal...

  Welcome to the Theunis Dey School. It is the goal of the Theunis Dey Elementary School to provide a quality education that will prepare our students to function in a global society. Our dedicated teaching staff is committed to helping our students reach their academic and social potential by modeling and fostering lifelong learning. Our lessons and programs are developed upon the theory that young children learn best when actively involved in the learning process. This is accomplished through a challenging curriculum which is aligned with the New Jersey Core Content Curriculum Standards. Cooperative learning and differentiated instructional strategies help to extend the curriculum and engage the students in exciting and meaningful ways. In addition to a rigorous academic program, the Theunis Dey staff is committed to educating the whole-child. To help attain this goal, Cooperative Discipline Strategies are implemented throughout the building. Additionally, character education programs are offered in every classroom and supported by our Elementary Prevention Intervention Specialist (EPIS). Finally, our program would not be successful without the support of our families. We are very fortunate at Theunis Dey to have active parent participation and assistance.  It is this collaboration between administration, teachers, staff, and students that makes Theunis Dey a very special place.
