To everyone involved in our recent carwash fundraiser

to raise money for the family of Tony Lanza.

Our expectations were far exceeded thanks to the efforts of the staff and students

and most definitely because of everyone who had their cars washed and made donations.

We also want to thank Gencarelli's Pizza of Wayne for their generous donation of food

to the students !

THE PREAKNESS ACADEMY

The Preakness Academy program was established by the Wayne Board of Education to create an alternative environment for those high school students experiencing difficulty within the traditional school setting.

The location of the Preakness Academy provides a secure environment separate from the pressures and distractions of the traditional high school. Additionally, the relatively small class sizes ensure our program has a favorable teacher to student ratio, empowering students to succeed.

The school district has make a commitment for funding, staffing, and curriculum development in order to present students with a final option to complete their high school education and receive their diploma.
