The National Art Honor Society
Advisor- Audrey Schwind
The National Art Education Association sponsors a National Art Honor Society to benefit high school students in grades ten though twelve for the purpose of inspiring those students who have shown outstanding ability in art.
The National Junior Art Honor Society is also sponsored by the NAEA to recognize freshmen students who have a dedicated interest and talent in art.
Both societies promote participation and develop further interest in Fine Arts. As local sponsor of the Wayne Hills Chapter of the National Art Honor Societies I welcome participation. To be qualified for participation students must have completed a full year art course with a B or better average and have a dedicated interest and ability in art. There is an application to be filled out plus a portfolio review for applicants. Details to the process are presented in art classes every September.
Once accepted, students are responsible for maintaining a B or better average in their art courses, show consistent interest in the arts, and continue in the art program at Wayne Hills High School to stay a member of NAHS. Member Induction coincides with an annual Art Show of their work during Youth Art Month in March.
