Important Forms:

IMPORTANT: Students who will be participating in 2008 Winter Sports need to view an information packet and return certain forms. The packet is available as a pdf file.  These forms are due back in the Athletic Office by November 10th.

A new Green Health History/Questionnaire must be completed and signed EACH SEASON by the parent and student athlete.  Sports physicals are good for 1 year from the first day of practice of the sport, so if you participated in a fall sport, you do not need a new physical, just a new green Health History form.  This form can be downloaded- it is the Physical Exam Info part 2 below.

SEASON PASSES

The Athletic Department recognizes that the cost of attending athletic events is demanding at times.  To encourage adult and student support, the Athletic Department will be offering Season Passes.  Adult Passes are $40.00 and Student Passes are $27.00.

They will only be recognized at home games, and do not include games sponsored by Passaic County or NJSIAA.

They can be obtained in the Athletic Office.

Athletic Policies and Information

This document is arranged in several sections:

Pride in athletic achievement has always been part of the Wayne Valley High School tradition. We want our athletes to excel in all their endeavors, not just their chosen sports. We are equally proud of their academic successes.

NJSIAA Eligibility Rules

Conduct of Athletics:

A firm and fair policy of enforcement is necessary to uphold the regulations and standards of the athletic department. The community, school administrators and the coaching staff feel strongly that high standards of conduct and citizenship are essential in maintaining a sound program of athletics. The welfare of the student is our major consideration and transcends any other consideration.

All athletes shall abide by a code of ethics which will earn them the honor and respect that participation and competition strives to achieve. Wayne Valley Athletes should exemplify good school citizenship through the following:

  1. Classroom behavior
  2. Code of dress
  3. Conduct at school functions
  4. Conduct on buses, in the locker room and at opposing schools.
  5. Behavior outside of school
  6. STUDY habits conducive to academic success
  7. ADHERE TO TRAINING RULES- The NJSIAA has established sportsmanship as their #1 priority in 2003-2004. It is expected our athletes will adhere to all NJSIAA rules including those of sportsmanship.

NJSIAA Responsibilities of Sportsmanship:

At Wayne Valley, sportsmanship is an integral part of the learning process. Athletes who do not adhere to these rules will face severe penalties.

  5. Wins without boasting, loses without excuses, and never quits.
  6. Always remembers that it is a privilege to represent the school and community.
