Special Parents Association
About the Special Parents Association (SPA)
As part of the Wayne Council PTO, Special Parents Association (SPA) is dedicated to helping parents of children with special educational needs.
Special Parents Association offers informative evening workshops for parents, as well as, educators and all members of the school community. Many of these workshops have been of interest to both regular and special education attendees. Through these workshops, parents are able to share ideas, experiences, and increase awareness/knowledge.
SPA provides educational materials for parents, children, and educators. A list of resources available for loan can be obtained through your SPA representative.
SPA is regularly updated as to any changes in special education from Wayne Special Services and acts as a network to communicate those changes to parents through workshops and SPA representatives at each school.
SPA is supported through funds from nominal membership fees and donations. If you are interested in joining SPA, please contact your school representative.
Your SPA representative is available to provide guidance and assistance to school parents whose children are experiencing educational difficulties.
