Ms. Zawistowski, Choral Director
The Vocal Music program at George Washington Middle School, under direction of
Ms. Zawistowski, provides students with opportunities to express creativity, emotion, and imagination through song. We not only develop our voices, but our creative minds as well. We set and achieve
goals, we cooperate as a team, and we have fun.
George Washington is fortunate enough to allow for students to meet for Chorus once a day. There are also extra-curricular opportunities for those who enjoy singing and seek more than what is offered in the school day.
The Backstage Broadway Show Choir
Participation in The Backstage Broadway Show Choir is by selection of Ms. Zawistowski after auditions. We meet once a week after school to practice group and solo renditions of some Broadway favorites. During performances, participants wear costumes and make-up to impersonate the Broadway character.
Each performing group (Grades 6-8 and Backstage Broadway) performs at the Music in the Parks Festival. There is a morning competition followed by an afternoon of fun at the amusement park. In the evening, there is an awards ceremony and trophies are awarded for the morning performances.
George Washington Chorus is a great deal of fun. In the process, it has helped hundreds prepare for Chorus at Wayne Valley High School. Come be a part of something special!
