Welcome to the 6th Grade Washington Team!

As students enter the sixth grade we seek to help them with the transition from elementary school to middle school. Our mission is to encourage the development of each student as an individual, intellectually, emotionally and socially.  We seek to do this not only in our individual classes but also through town hall meetings and interdisciplinary units/projects to link academic subjects and develop cooperative learning.

Our goals for the 2008-2009 school year are as follows:

1.  To encourage students to use a higher level of thinking in preparation for 7th

grade, 8th grade and ultimately High School.

2.  To have our students learn the meaning of responsibility and accountability to

aid them as they grow into young adults.

3.  To encourage team & school spirit and belonging through team projects and

school-wide activities.

It is our hope that through high expectations and ongoing support, our students will thrive and achieve success in all their endeavors throughout the year.
