World Language - Spanish

The 6th, 7th and 8th grade A/B program offers our students the ability to understand and converse about familiar topics in Spanish.  In addition, they will explore the culture, history and traditions of various Spanish-speaking countries and Puerto Rico.

Spanish I

The 8th grade Spanish I program offers a more comprehensive program, on an everyday basis, presenting to the students a more rigorous curriculum, which will prepare them for success in a Spanish II class.  Students will work on all modes of communication: speaking, reading and writing.  The Spanish I students will also study various historical and cultural aspects of Spanish-speaking nations.  Students at this level will be evaluated via mid-term and final exams, as well as, a pilot GEPA – the STAMP Test – which will evaluate each student’s oral and comprehension proficiency.

The Spanish Department looks forward to an exciting and productive school year with our students, which we hope will result in a life-long love of the Spanish language!
