Who we are...Smoke Signals is Wayne Valley’s newspaper. This is the club for any student interested in the area or subject of journalism. Students are involved in all aspects of the creation of an online and print newspaper and they will follow this creation process from generating article ideas to editing the final website and printed pages.
Students will learn about and gain skills in interviewing, reporting, editing, photography, and layout. Lastly, the students’ efforts culminate in a real time online paper as well as a printed edition of the newspaper that is distributed to the students and staff of WVHS each marking period.
Smoke Signals is a safe space to voice their ideas, opinions and thoughts. Every club member has a voice in the production of the paper.
