    (Wayne, NJ) - The Wayne School District is excited to announce that the Preakness Early Childhood Center will begin accepting preschool placement requests starting Friday, February 16th. This opportunity is open exclusively to parents and guardians interested in enrolling their children for the upcoming preschool year. To submit a placement request, please visit the district website at https://www.wayneschools.com/pecc starting February 16th. Eligibility for preschool kindergarten in September 2024 requires children to be 3 years of age on or before October 15, 2024, per District Policy 5112 - Entrance Age.

    Dear Wayne Residents: We feel compelled to respond to Mayor Christopher Vergano’s February 7th presentation at the Wayne Township Council meeting and the follow-up video he distributed throughout the community. While we recognize and respect differing perspectives, his actions were a complete surprise to the Board of Education and the District administration. There was no prior mention of his opposition to the school referendum, and his presentation was not listed as part of the Council’s agenda.

    WTPS to Host Community Forum about March 12 Bond Referendum

    WAYNE, NJ - Wayne residents are invited to participate in a Community Forum on Thursday, Feb. 15 to answer questions on the March 12 school bond referendum. The forum will begin at 7 p.m. in person at Wayne Hills High School Auditorium (272 Berdan Ave.). Like Wayne Township Public Schools Board of Education meetings, it will also be streamed live on the Township of Wayne Live TV Feed page. Viewers can also watch it on the "WayneHillsTV" YouTube channel.

    WAYNE, NJ – Residents of the Wayne Township Public Schools (WTPS) district will be able to vote in the school bond referendum March 12 if they are properly registered to vote by February 20. That’s the deadline to be a registered voter to participate in the referendum.

    Ryan Paul Selected for Open Seat on the Wayne Board of Education

    (Wayne, NJ) – At the Special Meeting of the Wayne Township Board of Education, held on January 25th, Mr. Ryan Paul was chosen as the Board Member replacing Michael Fattal, who left the Board of Education to serve on the Wayne Township Council. Following Mr. Fattal’s departure, the Board of Education carried out an extensive process to select a replacement. The BOE received twelve applications from community members and selected six candidates to interview. After a final interview for the top two candidates, Mr. Paul was selected for the open seat.
