  •   Keeping children safe on their Internet journey and encouraging responsible behavior online is a common goal of parents and educators everywhere. Below are links to some of the more popular Internet Safety resources that have been developed worldwide.


    Childnet International –

    A UK-based non-profit organization that works with partners around the world to keep children safe online. They address the negative aspects and dangers for children, as well as the creative and inspiring ways young people are using the Internet for good.

    The website displays in four languages, and offers resources for children, parents, and teachers, including links to many of their online, interactive web projects, including:

      Education and awareness site for kids, parents, and those who work with kids. Has lots of interactive sections, including games and videos.
    • DIGIZEN  www.digizen.org
      Provdes information for educators, parents, carers, and young people to strengthen awareness and undesrtanding of what digital citizenship is and encourages users of technology to be and become responsible digital citizens.


    Connect Safely

    Connect Safely is for parents, teens, educators and everyone interested in youth safety on the fixed and mobile social Web—a big part of young people's lives. The site offers social-media safety tips for teens and parents, and resources that include The Parent's Guide to Family LinkParent's Guide to Instagram, and Parent's Guide to Tik Tok and  It also has a video library and forum and links to its sister sites: SafeKids.com, SafeTeens.com, and NetFamilyNews.org.


    Cyberbullying Research Center

    The Cyberbullying Research Center is dedicated to providing up-to-date information about the nature, extent, causes, and consequences of cyberbullying among adolescents. It is intended to be a resource for parents, educators, community groups and others who work with youth. Their website provides cyberbullying research, stories, cases, downloads, fact sheets, online quizzes, tips and strategies, news headlines, a frequently-updated blog, and a number of other helpful resources.

    Internet Keep Safe Coalition

    A broad partnership of governors and/or first spouses, attorneys general, public health and educational professionals, law enforcement, and industry leaders working together for the health and safety of youth online. iKeepSafe uses these unique partnerships to provide safety resources for families worldwide.


    Microsoft Safety & Security Center

    Provides parents with informational how-to's so they can teach their children to use the Internet safely. Explains family safety settings for Microsoft products.


    NetSmartz Workshop

    NetSmartz Workshop is an interactive, educational program of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. It provides age-appropriate resources to help teach children how to be safer online and offline. There are programs designed for children ages 5-17, parents and guardians, educators, and law enforcement. With resources such as videos, games, activity cards, and presentations, NetSmartz entertains while it educates.

    The U.S. National Cyber Security Alliance's website that works to create a culture of cyber security and safety through education and awareness. NCSA has developed an abundance of information, tools, programs and activities for parents, teachers and students, including the Protect your Children program. The Tools and Resources section offers blogs, videos and a library with downloadable tip sheets and more.


    Web Wise Kids

    The Web Wise Kids mission is to teach kids, parents, educators, and the community the value of making safe and wise choices in a technologically evolving world by using the same media in which kids and adults live their lives. Their site incudes a Program section, which offers challenging and realistic interactive content to reach children of all ages, as well as parents, teachers, and older teens.

    WiredSafety.org is a U.S. charity operating through its volunteers worldwide. It is the largest and oldest online safety, education, and help group in the world. It provides one-to-one help, extensive resources, information, and education to people of all ages on a multitude of Internet, mobile, gaming and interactive technology safety issues.
