Return of a la carte items for purchase during lunch periods

  • March 7, 2022

Wayne Township Public Schools Foodservice Program has started offering a la carte  items (individually sold items) to be offered in addition with the free breakfast and lunch  meals given to the students each school day. These items can be purchased with either  a funded foodservice account or cash after lunch is served. We are offering second  breakfast or lunch entrees, additional side dishes (fruits & vegetables), bottled water,  snacks, ice cream- when available and hot/ cold beverages. (High School-Jazzman’s)  The current national supply chain challenges have made it difficult to consistently offer  our program favorites. We appreciate your understanding as we continue working  through this.

Wayne Schools Foodservices has computerized payment systems in every cafeteria.  Every Wayne school student is assigned a personal identification number (PIN) which  can be entered into the register each time they purchase. You can prepay for a la carte  items and the money will be deducted each time the account is used to purchase food or  beverages. Prepayment is not mandatory but is strongly recommended. You may  prepay by sending cash or a check with your child to be given to the cashier.

Please make checks payable to Wayne Public Schools Foodservice Fund. Students of parents that choose not to prepay can still purchase meals, snacks or drinks daily with cash. No charging on Foodservice Accounts is allowed this school year. Foodservice Account Access Scan Cards will not be used in the elementary schools  this school year.

Online payments are available, go to the Foodservice web page (knife & fork icon) at  www.wayneschools.com and click the link on right labeled Online Foodservice  Payments. You can also type www.myschoolbucks.com in your browser to access the online payment page for Wayne Schools and save to your Favorites Any money remaining or owed from the previous school year will be rolled over to the  following year and school. When the account balance approaches a negative balance,  the students will be notified by the cashier. Negative balance letters will be either mailed  home or given to each student to bring home. Any account funds owed needs to be paid  to Wayne Schools’ Foodservice Funds.

Wayne Schools’ Foodservices/ Kitchens are peanut & tree nut free -including cross contamination.

All monthly menus are posted online at https://wwp.sodexomyway.com/ or a link through the foodservice web page of www.wayneschools.com. If you have any questions please contact Michael Schmitt at (973)317-2239. Click here to download the letter.
