Mission Statement
PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. The purpose of the PTO is to promote the general welfare of the children, and to work towards uniting the home and school. It serves as a liaison in which parents and teachers work in a united and efficient manner in the education and over-all development and advancement of children.
The PTO’s objectives are to provide a variety of programs and activities of interest and value and to provide parents and teachers with an opportunity to contribute directly to the well-being of the school community.
The PTO is a non-profit organization, which delivers all of its services and programs through parent volunteer efforts and financial support. All parents are welcome to join, the membership fee is $7.00 per family. Since part of your membership fee covers the cost of our insurance, both in and out of school, you must be a member of the PTO to participate in the services and activities we offer.
The Lafayette PTO meets regularly. The Principal, Teachers, Presidents, Treasurers and Committee Chairpersons give reports to update everyone on the on-goings of the school. It is a place where everyone can share ideas and discuss concerns. We vote as a PTO on the budget, how to spend the monies, new activities or fundraising, etc. Committee chairpersons are all eligible to vote. All voting is conducted at the PTO meetings.
