Welcome! The bulletin board outside of the Media Center has a new display to encourage reading. Discover a new read from the Wayne Valley Media Center that may include books by S. E. Hinton or an author of your choice. At the start of a new month, the glass cabinets have been changed. We are celebrating the events of March: March biographies, St. Patrick's Day, Women's History Month, new books, Switzerland, and Makerspace activities. Visit the Media Center at your earliest convenience. Help in all areas of research are available at any time. Visit before school or during your study hall. You may stop by quickly after school if you need to find a print source. Many new books are on display. Stop by to volunteer in the Media Center. Learn how to access the Media Center Google Classroom and where to find the online database information sheets. I hope to see you soon! Have a wonderful school year!

We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Wayne Public Library that will enable our students and staff to have a digital Wayne Public Library Card
that gives them access to all the online resources our Public Library (and P.A.L.S.) has to offer.
STUDENTS: Please click this link and complete: this Google Form
FACULTY and STAFF: Please click this link and complete: this Google Form
Once completed, the Wayne Public Library will assign a new library card number to the student (or let them know what their library card number is if they have forgotten it). The email with this information will go to the student's Wayne Schools email address.
If students would like access to physical resources in the library (books, DVDs, etc.), parents/guardians would also need to sign a form located at http://www.waynepubliclibrary.org/images/pdf/adults/librarycard_app2016.pdf and bring that to the library. The Google Form application will only allow access to ONLINE RESOURCES.
As a reminder, all students are expected and required to abide by the Wayne County Schools Acceptable Use Policy for Technology In Secondary Schools, which can be accessed here: https://www.straussesmay.com/seportal/Public/DistrictPolicy.aspx?policyid=2361&search=2361&id=6218b96ed1f54935af593c79cd329a04
Thank-you for your help and cooperation.
Use Junior Library Guild Digital Streaming to search for an ebook to read. Download the JLG app on your phone or Chromebook or go to https://jlg.ipublishcentral.com/ on a desktop computer. From your Media Center Google Classroom, find the login credentials to login and read an ebook.
The student volunteers have been eagerly assisting in creating Pinterest boards for Wayne Valley Media Center for authors and their books, technology, book lists, and Common Core information. The latest additions to our boards are sports fiction and sports biographies found in WVMC. Picturing America Posters
I am privileged to have been awarded a series of 40 laminated, double-sided posters through a grant provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities to teach American History. It is a program to develop art appreciation through the use of these posters in the classroom. All areas of art are represented including painting, sculpture, architecture, and photography. They are to be displayed in classrooms, offices, display cases, and the Media Center. Teachers in all subject areas may incorporate these posters into their lessons in any way possible. In addition to the posters, I have a book which includes suggested lessons. Please come to the Media Center to determine which poster might by suitable for a lesson in your classroom.
