• It's that time of year again! 

    Student Council elections are on the horizon, so if you would like to run for a position, click on these links for important information and forms!

    Student Council Elections 2023-2024

    Below are important deadlines for those students interested in running for a position in Student Council

    • May 10th   Election packets will be made available to those interested in running for office

      • Packets will be available on the school website through the Student Council page, with the links to the documents, and also under the WHHS Headlines on the school homepage

    • June 1st    Candidate applications, contracts, and speeches due

      • All student council candidates must complete the election packet, which requires the following:

        • Signed Student Council contract (to class advisor)

        • Answer five questions (to class advisor)

        • Submit a recent photo with a BRIEF campaign slogan to kcaldwell@wayneschools.com our media specialist to be posted to school website

      • President, vice-president, secretary or treasurer candidates must ALSO do the following:

        • Answer an additional three questions.

    • June 5th     Speeches in the Auditorium - Juniors (block 2), Sophomores (block 3), and Freshmen (block 5)

    • June 7th and 8th   Digital election held using Google Forms through Social Studies Department

  • Student Council is a group of elected students working within the framework of a constitution or bylaws to provide a means for student expression and assistance in school affairs and activities, give opportunities for student experience in leadership, and encourage student/faculty/community relations.

    *The Student Council shall:
    *Promote a greater degree of unity, respect, spirit, and cooperation among students, faculty, staff, and administration.
    *Offer and oversee activities for furthering the academic, and social growth of the student body.
    *Provide a democratic and representative forum through which students may address school-related issues affecting the student body.
    *Represent the faculty and administration the concerns of the student body regarding academic and disciplinary policies.
