FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wayne Board of Education Provides Update on Superintendent Search

Release: February 13, 2025

The Wayne Board of Education is pleased to provide an update to the Wayne community regarding the search for a new Superintendent of Wayne Public Schools. Following a comprehensive period of stakeholder engagement, the Board, in partnership with Comegno Educational Institute, has finalized the job advertisement, marking a significant step forward in this crucial process.

Recognizing the vital importance of community input in identifying the ideal leader for Wayne Public Schools, the Board prioritized gathering feedback from a diverse range of stakeholders. Over 900 parents, teachers, staff, and students participated in our comprehensive online survey, providing invaluable insights into the qualities and characteristics desired in our next Superintendent. These surveys, combined with the rich discussions and perspectives shared during both in-person and online community forums, have provided a solid foundation for understanding the community's vision for the future leadership of our schools.

“The Wayne Board of Education is deeply committed to selecting a Superintendent who embodies the values and aspirations of our entire community,” stated Don Pavlak, President of the Wayne Board of Education. “We are incredibly grateful to the over 900 individuals who took the time to participate in our stakeholder survey and forums. Your voices have been instrumental in shaping our understanding of the desired leadership qualities and priorities for Wayne Public Schools.”

Over the past several weeks, the Board has gathered feedback, working in close collaboration with Comegno Educational Institute. This collaborative effort culminated in last night’s meeting where the Board and Comegno Educational Institute finalized the job advertisement for the Superintendent position.

The finalized job advertisement will be officially posted February 14, 2025. This advertisement will be disseminated through various channels, including the district website www.wayneschools.com, educational job boards and professional organizations, ensuring broad reach and attracting a diverse and highly qualified pool of candidates.

“The posting of the job advertisement tomorrow represents an exciting next phase in our search for a new Superintendent,” continued President Pavlak. “We are confident that the robust stakeholder input we have received, combined with the expertise of Comegno Educational Institute, has positioned us to attract exceptional candidates who are passionate about leading Wayne Public Schools to continued success.”

The Wayne Board of Education remains dedicated to a transparent and thorough search process. Further updates will be provided to the community as the search progresses. We encourage all interested and qualified individuals to review the job advertisement and consider applying for this important leadership position.
