Board of Education Recognizes 2023-2024 Governor's Educators of the Year
(Wayne, New Jersey) – The Wayne Board of Education proudly recognized the Governor’s Educator of the Year at the February 22nd regular meeting. Assistant Superintendent Donna Reichman recognized a total of 30 educators. In recognizing the teachers, Mrs. Reichman said, “Congratulations to our winners for their unconditional commitment and dedication to our students and the Wayne school community. You inspire our students daily with your creativity, innovative practices, kindness, and care. Your outstanding work to support our students teaches them some of the most important life lessons and helps shape their future.”

Preschool Placement Requests Now Open at Preakness Early Childhood Center
(Wayne, NJ) - The Wayne School District is excited to announce that the Preakness Early Childhood Center will begin accepting preschool placement requests starting Friday, February 16th. This opportunity is open exclusively to parents and guardians interested in enrolling their children for the upcoming preschool year. To submit a placement request, please visit the district website at https://www.wayneschools.com/pecc starting February 16th. Eligibility for preschool kindergarten in September 2024 requires children to be 3 years of age on or before October 15, 2024, per District Policy 5112 - Entrance Age.

Wayne Township Board of Education Reorganizes
(Wayne, NJ) – At the reorganization meeting of the Wayne Township Board of Education, held on January 4th, two new Board members, Mark Faber and Wendy Limandri, were seated based on the results of the November general election. Incumbent Donald Pavlak, Jr. was also sworn in after his successful re-election campaign in November. The three Board members took their seats on the Board after taking the oath of office.

Jennifer Montana Appointed as Supervisor of Health and Wellness
(Wayne, New Jersey) - The Wayne Township Board of Education is proud to announce the appointment of Jennifer Montana as Supervisor of Health and Wellness. Ms. Montana has been a school counselor for 9 years, working at the middle and high school levels. Her tenure in Wayne has seen her at three schools, most recently as a counselor at Wayne Valley High School for the past seven years.

Wellness Weekends represent a break away from school responsibilities. During each of the three Wellness Weekends, students do not have any obligations to the school district, which means no homework, no tests or quizzes, and no due dates scheduled directly before or after a Wellness Weekend.
