  • Parent Forum - August 11, 2021

    The Wayne Township Public Schools will be holding a Parent Forum on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 7:00PM to 8:30PM at Wayne Hills High School auditorium (272 Berdan Avenue) to give an update on our District Goal for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and provide some answers to questions that were raised at the June 24th board of education meeting.

  • Free Meals for Children during Summer 2021

    Wayne Township Public Schools Foodservices is approved to continue offering Free Meals to all children from June 23, 2021 to September 8, 2021. This allows us to give Free Breakfasts & Lunches to any student, sibling, child that are 18 years old or younger.

  • PARAs Still Needed for WTPS Extended School Year Program

    The WTPS ESY program is still in need of additional paraprofessionals. Please consider applying if you haven't already. The stipend has increased to $2,000.00. The 2021 ESY staff postings along with the application and forms are now posted on the website.

  • Social, Emotional, and Wellness Letter - June Edition

    June 21, 2021 - Dear Parents and Guardians: The Wayne Township Public Schools SEL and Wellness committee have released the final newsletter of the year for parents and students. The newsletter includes helpful tips on finding mental health resources over the summer, summer programs available, and articles looking forward to our return to school in September.

  • Letter from the Superintendent - June 17, 2021

    Currently, a debate is playing out in communities across the United States regarding Critical Race Theory and public schools. For example, on Tuesday, the Governor of Texas signed a bill into law that does not name Critical Race Theory specifically, but instead, bans teachers from teaching topics and ideas closely associated with Critical Race Theory. Some of the topics and ideas at issue include diversity and inclusion, anti-racism training, inherent racism, equity, social justice, multiculturalism, and the 1619 Project.

    The NJDOE Safe Reopening Plan was discussed and presented at the June 10th Board Meeting. Please review the Return to School Presentation and the NJDOE Safe Reopening Plan links. Also, the District would like your input on the Safe Return to School Plan from our residents, parents/guardians, and staff.   • Letter from the Superintendent - June 9, 2021

    Dear Parents and Guardians: On Monday, Governor Murphy unexpectedly made an announcement about easing masking requirements in public schools during periods of extreme heat. This was a major departure from any other communication he made about the need for masking. Since Monday afternoon, we have worked to consider health and safety issues for all students and staff and with the help of our Wayne Department of Health, we were able to ease some masking requirements and offer far more flexibility.

    Minimal Day 6/7/21 Due to Excessive Heat Forecasted Due to the high temperatures and excessive heat forecasted for tomorrow, Monday, June 7th, all Wayne Township Public Schools will be operating on a minimal day schedule. PM kindergarten will arrive at the usual 11:45 time and will be dismissed at 1:15. All high school senior events will run as planned.

  • Wayne Township Public Schools Designated as No Place For Hate Schools for the Fourth Year in a Row!

    May 26, 2021 - We are thrilled to announce that 14 Wayne Township Public Schools have been officially designated as 2020 - 2021 No Place For Hate® Schools by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). The Wayne Township Public Schools received the designation from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for its commitment to creating a safe, supportive, tolerant, and inclusive learning environment for all students. The district would like to thank our students, educators, and administrators for supporting this initiative and our dedicated Anti-Bullying Specialists for leading this program which affirms our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Budget Approved - Full Day Kindergarten to begin September 2021

    The Wayne Board of Education narrowly approved a school budget for the 2021-2022 school year with five yes votes and four no votes. Please click Learn More to view the final budget presentation. With the budget approval, the school district will now be moving ahead with the final phase of a three-year full-day kindergarten implementation plan. This means that next year, each of our elementary schools will have a full-day kindergarten program. More information will be distributed during the week of May 10th regarding registration and upcoming events and activities.

  • WTPS Foodservices: PHASE V PLAN

    Wayne Public School’s Return to School Plan Phase 5 begins on Monday April 19, 2021. This letter is to help the school community understand what the Wayne Schools foodservices team is offering to every student. Wayne Schools is approved until the end of June 2021 to serve free breakfast and free lunch to every student in the district.
