Staches for Jake

Wayne Valley Boys Lacrosse has teamed up with Staches for Jake again this past November to raise money for Tackle Kids Cancer, Tomorrows Children, and HeadStrong Fund.  All of these foundations have helped Jake Rudd, a sophomore at Wayne Valley High School, who was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma (a rare bone cancer) in 2016.  Jake and his family wanted to show thanks by raising money to donate back to the foundations that have provided so much support throughout their Journey.  Staff Members, Administration, as well as students all grew out mustaches or beards to show their support to the cause.  Members of the Wayne Valley Boys Lacrosse Team also sold t-shirts and bracelets to raise money.  Through the GoFundMe campaign organized by Staches for Jake and the support of the Wayne Valley Boys Lacrosse Team, together they were able to raise close to $5,000.  The portion that is donated to Tackle Kids Cancer, will be matched by Eli Manning as a part of the Eli Manning Campaign.

It is never too late to support Jake Rudd and his mission to give back.  Please visit www.gofundme.com/stachesforjr to make a donation.  If you would like a t-shirt or bracelet please contact Robert Glander, Head Coach of Boys Lacrosse, at rglander@wayneschools.com.  There are a limited amount of bracelets left.

Jake Rudd, his family, Staches for Jake, and Wayne Valley Boys Lacrosse would like to thank everyone who was apart of making this campaign so successful.  It is really amazing to see an entire community come together to help support a wonderful cause.  Staches for Jake is now in its second year, between this year and last years campaign we have managed to raise over $10,000!!!!
