Allergies - Nut Free Lunches

There are quite a few students with food allergies at APT.  Although we provide an allergy table these students are permitted to sit with their class during lunch/snack as per parent request.   As the safety of our children is paramount to all of us at APT, we need your support to make our school “nut free zones” during snack time, lunch time and class parties. A child with a nut allergy can suffer a serious reaction merely by touching a food containing a peanut or tree nut. Therefore, we ask that you adhere to the following safety guidelines. ● Please do not send in any peanuts, peanut butter● Please do not send any tree nuts or foods containing tree nuts. Examples of common tree nuts include almond, Brazil nut, cashew, chestnut, filbert, hazelnut (Nutella), macadamia nut, pecan, pine nut, pistachio, and walnut.  It is hard for the cafeteria aids to check all the lunches but things like whole nuts, peanut butter and Nutella are clearly visible.  Students who have these items will be asked to see the nurse for replacements.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
