Letter from the Superintendent - December 20, 2021

December 20, 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians:

I am happy to inform you that the District is able to revert to the quarantine standard that we have been following all year.  The recent change to a fourteen-day quarantine resulted from the New Jersey Department of Health initiating changes when our region was classified as high risk for COVID.  Subsequent changes from the New Jersey Department of Health made it possible to revert to a ten-day quarantine.   A number of students and classes were quarantined under the fourteen-day standard and we have since notified parents that their children may return within the ten-day quarantine standard.

When there are outbreaks, vaccinated students are able to remain in school.  In some cases, there are students that were quarantined before the rest of the class.  These students will be able to return based on their initial quarantine so there is no “double” quarantine.  It is important to understand that students may be returning to less than ideal conditions because it is possible that some or all classmates and staff may still remain under quarantine.  Any questions about your child’s return should be directed to your child’s principal.
