Letter from the Superintendent and Asst. Superintendent - December 23, 2021

December 23, 2021

Dear Wayne Schools Community:

Best wishes to all members of the Wayne Schools community for a joyous holiday season!

We know the past year has been tough on everyone, but we also know better days are ahead.  Schools work best when education is treated as a partnership between schools and the community and organized around the needs of children.  We look forward to working together and building upon this partnership in 2022.

We want to thank all of you for supporting our school employees during these difficult times. We also want to thank all school employees for persevering and providing the best education possible despite numerous pandemic-related problems.  As we have shared throughout the year, every effort was made to keep our schools open despite some significant challenges.  Many community members are concerned about schools re-opening on January 3rd based on recent media coverage about other NJ schools that may not re-open.  We expect to re-open with full-day instruction on January 3rd as scheduled, noting that we may face some significant challenges with staffing due to the surge in positive cases and quarantine.  The District is well-prepared to deal with a variety of scenarios. Click here for the complete letter.
