Dear Wayne Schools Community,
I hope this message finds you and your families well. I am writing to provide an update regarding our school calendar and how it has been affected by the use of emergency days this year. In short, we have a lengthy Memorial Day break coming in just a few weeks.
The Board of Education adopted a 2024-2025 school calendar, which incorporated four emergency days in the schedule. To date, we have used one of the four days.
As a result, we will have an expanded Memorial Day Break. We will use the last three Emergency Days to close the schools on Thursday, May 22nd, Friday, May 23rd, and Tuesday, May 27th as long as we do not need the remaining emergency days for some other type of emergency. Schools will reopen on Wednesday, May 28th.
A reminder that this time is also scheduled as a Wellness Weekend, which allows everyone to truly enjoy the time away from school.
