Message from the Superintendent

Dear Wayne Community,

As many of you may know, the ongoing federal government shutdown has created uncertainty for some New Jersey families who rely on programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and other federal benefits.

The Wayne Township Public Schools cares deeply for the families we serve. We have worked in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Education, in the compilation of a list of helpful resources for families who may be experiencing food insecurity or other challenges during this time. Each link provides access to free support and assistance from trusted organizations. Additionally, we’ve identified Passaic County food distribution events serving families in the coming days.

We encourage anyone in need to explore these resources and to reach out to our school-based support networks if needed. Our community is strongest when we take care of one another.

A list of resources is available below and on our food assistance website located HERE. Please feel free to share this information with anyone who may be in need.

To help support families in need, Passaic County will host two emergency food distribution events this week:

Monday, November 3 at 11:00 AM

Calvary Baptist Community Center

575 E 18th Street, Paterson, NJ 07514

Wednesday, November 5 at 11:00 AM

Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church

163 Autumn Street, Passaic, NJ 07055

Residents seeking assistance should bring their EBT card and a valid photo ID to verify eligibility. To make the process faster on the day of pickup, families are strongly encouraged to pre-register using this link:  Registration
