Message from the Superintendent 3/3/26 with an envelope and Wayne logo

Dear Educators, Parents & Guardians,

With continued news coverage and public attention surrounding conflict in the Middle East, we recognize that some of our young learners may experience worry, confusion, or heightened anxiety. Even when events occur far from our community, children can internalize what they hear in conversations, on television, and through social media.

During times like these, the partnership between school and home is especially important. By maintaining consistent routines, encouraging open and age-appropriate conversations, and offering reassurance, we can help children feel safe, supported, and secure. Listening calmly to their questions and validating their feelings goes a long way in easing uncertainty.

To assist families and educators in guiding these conversations, we are sharing a helpful resource from UNICEF: https://www.unicef.org/parenting/child-care/how-talk-your-children-about-conflict-and-war

Additionally, each of our schools is supported by highly skilled counselors who are available to help students navigate emotional concerns. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your building principal or counseling staff if your child or a student needs additional support.

By working together, we can ensure that our children continue to feel cared for, heard, and safe.

Proud Superintendent of Wayne Township Public Schools
