Blithe Spirit, by Noel Coward, is from the 1940's and is about a writer named Charles who lives with his second wife, Ruth, in a small English town. Charles' first wife, Elvira, died after a bout with Pneumonia. Charles invites Madame Arcati, a medium, to the house to perform a seance, secretly trying to gather information for his next book. Unfortunately, Madame Arcati is the real deal, and they summon Charles' first wife back from the other side. What follows is a heated triangle of comedy and arguments between Charles who can see Elvira, and Ruth, who cannot. In the course of the show, Elvira tries several times to kill Charles, thus bringing him to the other side with her. She only succeeds in making things worse...
Blithe Spirit performs this Thursday December 4th, Friday the 5th, and Saturday the 6th at 7pm. Tickets on sale at the HS during lunch for students and at the door for the general public for $15.00. See you there!
