❄️ DELAYED SCHOOL OPENING: Tuesday, January 27, 2026❄️
The safety of our students and staff is our main concern, so WTPS schools will open on a 90 minute Delayed Schedule for Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Before Care is cancelled.Prepare for possible transportation delays

Due to the inclement weather, all Wayne Township Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026. Right At School programs (Before and After Care) and all after-school and evening activities will also be canceled.

The Wayne Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting on January 8, 2026. Two new board members, Joseph V. Agnes and Keith M. Heyman, were seated based on the results of the November general election. Agnes was sworn in by Mrs. Jinnee DeMarco, Business Administrator/Board Secretary, Heyman was sworn in by Mayor Christopher Vergano, while Superior Court Judge Scott T. Rumana administered the oath of office to Incumbent Barbara Rigoglioso.

The Board of Education unanimously selected Donald Pavlak, Jr. as President of the Board of Education. He has served the community as a Board Member since 2005, and has previously served as President in 2017, 2018, 2024, 2025 and as Vice President in 2016. In addition, the Board of Education selected Barbara Rigoglioso as Vice President. This is the second year she will be serving as Vice President. Due to hazardous icing conditions on school properties resulting from weekend storms and dropping temperatures this evening, and out of an abundance of caution, the Wayne School District will have a one hour and thirty minute delayed opening tomorrow, Tuesday, January 20. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; however, after reviewing our facilities and consulting with our leadership team and community resources, we believe this is the best decision to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

High School: 8:50am - 2:19PM

Middle School: 9:30am - 2:45pm

Elementary: 10:25am - 3:20pm

Preschool Full Day: 9:50am - 2:45pm

Preschool AM: 9:50am- 11:50am

Preschool PM: 12:45pm - 2:45pm
